Best Science for the Most Neglected – Where Do We Stand 10 Years On?
Event in Paris, France, 5 December 2013

The Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative, together with founding partners Institut Pasteur and MSF, in collaboration with PLOS, is hosting a special scientific event on the occasion of DNDi’s 10th anniversary entitled: Best Science for the Most Neglected – Where Do We Stand 10 Years On?

The event will take place at Institut Pasteur in Paris, France on 5 December 2013, and will bring together key actors within the field of neglected disease research and development, from upstream innovation to clinical implementation. Participants include international scientists, product developers, policy-makers and civil society organizations, and will mark the celebration of a decade of innovation for neglected diseases conducted by various innovative initiatives, including DNDi.

The conference aims to take stock of the past decade’s most significant advances in the field of drug discovery and development, for infectious diseases broadly, and neglected tropical diseases in particular. By addressing issues relevant to the development of new tools, from the discovery of a new class of molecules to the delivery of a treatment, and taking into account progress in scientific knowledge, technological innovations, and global health priorities, it will give an overview of the current scientific landscape, setting the stage for a discussion on the anticipated challenges and successes of the next decade.
