E-drug: Cambodia: No drug patents until 2016!!

[This Cambodian Patents Law provides a very helpful model. BS]
The 2003 Patent law of Cambodia excludes patenting of pharmaceutical
products until 2016 with a reference to the Doha declaration.
Cambodia will be the first LDC admitted to the WTO. Good to see such
a clear use of the pro-health provisions outlined in the Doha
declaration.
Here is the text of article 136 Chapter 8 of the Cambodia patent law of
2003:
"The pharmaceutical products mentioned in the Article 4 of this Law
shall be excluded from patent protection until January 01, 2016,
according to the Declaration on Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of
Intellectual Property Rights and Public Health of the Ministerial
Conference of World Trade Organization dated November 14, 2001 in
Doha of Qatar."
