E-drug: Community participation
----------------------------------------------------------
Dear E-druggers,
I am looking for information on community participation and representation
in health sectors. This info will be used to conduct a study of the
existing structure of community participation in Nunavut (Canada, Arctic)
and to present any possible alternatives to the existing structure. The
objective is to present the new (to be formed) regional government with a
rational comparison between the various levels/intensities/forms of
community participation. This study will enable them to make a decision as
to which structure they wish to see.
I am in fact looking for any recognised standard literature on this
subject, as well as recent publications which deal with the most up to date
developments and 'state of the art' situations.
With kind regards,
Ed Vreeke

There is something in World Bank report 1993: Investing in health.
There is a chapter on community participation in Managing Drug Supply, 2nd
Ed. 1997 with references and suggestions for further reading, and
London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (Barbara McPake and others,
should be able to provide much input. KM]
