E-DRUG: Computer system for inventory control (contd.)

As already discused earilier on e-drug, if you first develop Terms
of References for your computer system and the desired outcome you
can buy any commercial stockkeeping program. The somewhat more
advanced systems include batch number and expiry date capacity. At
the same time, you can buy an accounting software permtting your
organisation to be up to date with your book keeping.
Recently, we introduced the Exact software (commercial program
installed in more then 40.000 enterprises all over the world) in
the Kivu region of East Congo (former Zaire). A discount on
official price of 50% was negotiated.
Programme includes accounting and an advanced stockkeeping
including expiry date, packing list, invoicing, statistics, etc.
Data can be exported to Excel for additional data collection.
The Store's management team is very happy with the software and
do not have operational problems.
Why reinvent the wheel by developing special pharmaceutical
software? CMS and health facilities are working with less clients
and an extremely limited number of products. Far less then any
shop who buys its software needs "of the shelve".
