E-DRUG: Documentary release: "Medicines, a hijacked right" (Barcelona)

Dear colleagues,
Farmacéutics Mundi will release the documentary "El medicament, un dret
segrestat" (Medicines, a hijacked right). The release will be in
Barcelona (Cinema Verdi Park, C/ Torrijos 49), on 30th September at 22.30h.
The documentary deals with the global problem of access to medicines,
and in particular with those faced by developing countries.
Access to medicines is a universal right. However, due to the
established mechanisms of research, innovation, regulation and commerce
of drugs, a third of the world's population do not have access to
essential medicines. In the documentary, international experts in the
field of global health, highlight the corruption of this system.
Statements from Sierra Leone, where the high price of the medicines has
opened up a black market, Switzerland (WHO Assembly, 2010), Colombia
(Kaletra case) and Spain make clear that access to medicines, is in
fact, a hijacked right.
We hope this documentary becomes a tool to achieve that the right to
health is a reality and not a utopia.
