E-drug: Double standard (cont'd)

Dear E-Druggers,
Until now (June 13) cisapride is still on the market in France.
Apparently no agreement has been reached among European
countries, leaving national EU regulators to decide on their own,
whether to withdraw the drug, restrict its use or going on business as
usual. Withdrawal is due in Canada by August 7, in the USA by July
14. A review of cardiac effects of cisapride will be published soon in
la revue Prescrire July/August 2000. Prescrire recommends
withdrawal.
