E-DRUG: Drug donation management

E-drug: Drug donation management
--------------------------------

Dear E-druggers,

I'm a reporter on the national staff of knight ridder newspapers,
America's second biggest chain. I'm reporting on disaster management
problems that involve drugs, medical supplies or equipment and wonder
whether you've heard of incidents since of misuse, waste, of donated
medical materials that have occurred since those footnoted in the WHO
guidelines of 1996. I'm paying special attention to Hurricanes Georges
and Mitch, but would be grateful for information about any recent
mishaps. I chase rumors but don't publish unconfirmed ones, and would
welcome, also, names of anyone who might help.

Thanks in advance. regards,

Frank Greve

[note from moderator: We don't have a policy yet on journalists requesting
information from E-drug, but I would suggest that these questions can be
raised, as long as there is a commitment that any public result of the
journalist is at least summarized back to the E-drug list.
