E-drug: Drug formulations suitable for use in children (cont'd)
---------------------------------------------
Dear E-drug Users,
The matter of need for drug formulations suitable for use in children
is as serious in Uganda as it is in Kenya. And the
pharmaceutical-related problems with many of the vertical programmes
seem to be more than this issue of lack of pediatric dose forms.
And there is no doubt that a deliberate idea of making either
pediatric tablets or capsules must be developed into activities. In
this vein, the programmes must be willing to quantify the need so
that manufacturers can produce accordingly.
Moreover, there is comfort in concluding that a number of vertical
health programmes require enormous pharmaceutical services for which
they must hire pharmacists in order to appropriately administer the
services.
