E-DRUG: E-DRUG Insulin Stability

In 1994 we got recommendations from IDA:

(IDA = Foundation for non-profit procurement of medical supplies,
improvement of local distribution and small-scale production of
pharmaceuticals in developing countries):

Insulins are not very stable and should be kept under refrigeration (+2� C
to +8�C)...
During transportation, insulin can withstand short periods at higher or
lower temperature. The maximum periods and temperatures according the
manufacturer are listed below:
-20 � C to -10� C max. 15 min.
-10� C to - 5� C max. 30 min.
- 5�C to +2� C max. 2 hours
+2�C to +8� C normal shelf-life
+8�C to +15� C max. 96 hours
+15�C to +30� C max. 48 hours
+30�C to +40� C max. 6 hours
above 40�C not permitted"
