[e-drug] Essential drug or essential medicine?

E-drug: Essential drug or essential medicine?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

You may be aware that Australia has a 'National Medicinal Drug
Policy' - to overcome the confusion. I work alongside another Unit
involved in harm reduction. They frequently produce and use
documents on 'drug policy'. I try to explain why they would be
better referring to 'illicit drugs policy' but they are quite happy with
their terminology. I agree with Billy Futter "I appreciate that
linguistic interpretation has many influences (culture, education,
standard use etc) but it always worries me when there is a push to
change from drugs to medicine".
