E-DRUG: Essential Drugs in developed countries

E-DRUG: Essential Drugs in developed countries
----------------------------------------------

Dear E-druggers:

I am writing a paper to introduce the Essential Drugs in different
countries to Chinese people. There are many good examples and good
experiences in developing countries, Philippines, South Africa, Zimbabwe,
etc, but the good examples from developed countries is limited. WHO always
recommends the systems of Australia and Scotland, but the drug lists in
these countries are health care insurance drug lists, not the essential
drug list. Does there anybody know the situation of essential drugs in
Norway or other developed countries?

I do appreciate all the messages from E-drug colleagues.

Thank you and best wishes,

[Essential drug lists, hospital formularies, insurance reimbursing lists:
what's in a name? What matters is the concept of essential drugs, in my
view. Developed countries call their essential drug lists differently,
but they follow the same concept that some drugs are more important han
others! WB]
