[e-drug] Essential Drugs Monitor (cont'd)

E-drug: Essential Drugs Monitor (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reading the Essential Drugs Monitor 28 & 29 - 2000 (!!) yesterday
in the train, I first thought that I picked an old issue at the office by
mistake. Good contents, but published just one year too late -
which quality journal beats that?!

On the other hand, the Monitor is also available online on the EDM
site http://www.who.int/medicines/information/infmonitor.shtml as
a PDF file:

[I initially had the same reaction as Thomas, but quickly understood
that the most recent EDM was not old at all. It is almost exclusively
on inappropriate antibiotic use and rising levels of resistance. You
may remember that WHO launched its global strategy on contain-
ment of antibiotic resistance on 11 September 2001. That is only
3 weeks ago. Not bad, I would say, and I think EDM is pretty much
on the ball. Thanks for your info on the web locations, Thomas. I
planned to provide that, but eventually forgot to do so. HH]
