E-DRUG: Essential medicines require essential diagnostics (2)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I fully endorse the view.
The Initiative should aim at the provision of a package of quality
essential diagnostic services free of cost in all public health facilities.
In my carrier as Procurement officer helping ministry of health, we found
tricky situations in applying qualification norms for Rapid/IVDs of the
local experts.
International guidance should also address the local
requirements especially that of malaria rapid diagnostics, with so many
makers!
I hope WHO is doing excellent efforts, but it should bear fruit as a fool
proof guidance for national governments/agencies.
