E-drug: HAI- MSF- CPT briefing paper on access for WHA

Dear Friends,
From 15-20 May, the World Health Assembly will meet to consider important
public health issues, including access to essential drugs. In preparation
for that meeting, HAI, M�decins Sans Fronti�res and the Consumer Project on
Technology have drafted a joint briefing paper on key aspects of this issue,
including:
- the extent of the problem
- WHO's response
- TRIPs, global trade regulation and access
- the importance of the essential drugs list
- the lack of R&D for "neglected diseases", and importantly,
- recommendations for action by WHO and member states
