HealthNet News Special Edition on Neonatal Survival
------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues,
The March 5th issue of The Lancet includes a landmark series highlighting one of the greatest catastrophes in public health -- neonatal deaths. Every year an estimated 4 million babies die in the first month of life. The four articles featured in The Lancet's Neonatal Survival series provide new evidence of the causes of these deaths and the cost-effective interventions available to prevent them.
To ensure that this vital information reaches those persons in resource-poor countries who do not have access to these articles, SATELLIFE has compiled a Special Edition of its HealthNet News e-publication that includes the following articles from this Neonatal Survival Series,
1. 4 million neonatal deaths When? Where? Why?
2. Evidence-based, cost-effective interventions: How many
newborn babies can we save?
3. Systematic scaling up of neonatal care in countries
4. Neonatal survival: A call for action
This Special Edition is accessible via email and is FREE to those living in resource-poor countries. If you would like to receive this
Special Edition, please email your requests to hnet@healthnet.org.
For those who have internet access, the Neonatal Survival Series is available on-line at no cost to all Lancet registered users at
