E-DRUG: History of Central medical stores (2)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Muhammad,
in 2003 the Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network (EPN) together with the WHO
and the support of SIDA conducted a "Multi-Country Study of Medicine and
Distributions Activities of Faith-Based Organizations in Sub-Saharan African
countries".
The report can be downloaded under:
http://www.who.int/medicines/areas/access/EN_EPNstudy.pdf
Based on the outcome and especially the methodology used, the WHO decided to
analyze the medical stores run by governments in a similar way.
That report
"Multi-Country-Study of Public Sector Medicine Supply Strategies in the WHO
African and Eastern Mediterranean Regions" had been drafted in 2008 but
never got published because of interventions of some of the governments
involved.
The summary of that drafted report reflects the
background of the CMSs to a certain degree, maybe the WHO is able to copy these first seven pages for you?
