E-drug: HIV/AIDS Training Program for Medical Doctors in Africa

Call for Applications
A program of Makerere University,
Academic Alliance for AIDS Care and Prevention in Africa,
and The Infectious Diseases Society of America
This is a call for applications for the HIV/AIDS Training Program for
Medical Doctors in Africa for the year 2003. The HIV/AIDS Training
Program is a one-month, full-time, non-resident course with a 10-
person capacity. A total of 5 applicants from outside of Uganda and 5
applicants from Uganda will be selected. The course entails a
comprehensive overview of HIV/AIDS related basic science,
epidemiology, care and treatment, and prevention for adult and
paediatric populations. The course includes clinical experience and
classroom teaching with instruction provided by both national and
international HIV/AIDS experts. The course includes examinations.
Requirements:
MBChB or an equivalent from a recognized university
Experience in HIV/AIDS care
Course Session Dates:
March 10 - April 4, 2003
June 2 - 27, 2003
July 7 - August 1, 2003
October 6 - 31, 2003
November 3 - 28, 2003
Applications:
Application forms may be obtained from and submitted to the Academic
Alliance office. For applicants residing outside of Uganda or
Kampala, please request an application or any additional information
about the program by fax, phone or e-mail at the location/numbers
listed below.
Course Costs:
No tuition fee; a living stipend will be provided; and housing for
those persons living outside of Uganda. Applicants residing out of
Uganda will be responsible for meeting their own travel costs to Kampala.
