Invitation to Press Briefing in South Africa
[Although e-druggers outside South Africa cannot attend this meeting,
it is of interest that it is happening so others in South Africa can
hear about the Khayelitsha example.

The groups will make an important announcement about the use of
generic antiretroviral drugs in South Africa

Members of the Treatment Action Campaign and Medecins Sans Frontieres
will explain how this action cuts in half the cost of AIDS drugs used
in a pilot programme run by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF)
MSF will report on the use of antiretroviral therapy in Khayelitsha, a
township of Cape Town, and on the feasibility of the use these drugs
in resource-poor settings

The groups will call on the South African government and
pharmaceutical companies to take all steps necessary to ensure
availability of treatment
