[e-drug] Infection control (cont)

E-drug: Infection control (cont)
---------------------------------------------
Dear Shamas,

The Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) has
produced guidelines for infection control in the health care setting They are
available on the web at:
http://www.health.gov.au/nhmrc/publicat/synopses/ic6syn.htm
But please note they are currently under review. I am not sure when
the new version will be available.

The NHMRC has many of its publications now on-line including its clinical
practice guidelines. You could check out their index at:
http://www.health.gov.au/nhmrc/publicat/contents.htm
There are costs listed for the hard copies, but the on-line versions can be
downloaded free.

On a slightly different topic, the other Australian site which may be of
interest to e-druggers is the Australian Pharmaceutical Advisory Council
website, where the following publications can be downloaded
1. National Medicines Policy 2000
2. Addressing privacy issues relating to use of medication data
3. National guidelines to achieve the continuum of quality use of medicines
between hospital and community
4. Australian guidelines for drug donations to developing
countries
5. Integrated best practice model for medication management in
residential aged care facilities 2nd edition
Follow the publications link at: http://www.health.gov.au/haf/docs/apac.htm

Kind regards
