E-DRUG: Lancet Global Health article about evaluation of Novartis Access project in Kenya
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As many E-Druggers may know I have been involved with colleagues in Boston and Kenya in undertaking an evaluation of the Novartis Access program in Kenya. We have just published a paper in Lancet Global Health describing the results.
This is available at
https://www.thelancet.com/journals/langlo/article/PIIS2214-109X(18)30563-1/fulltext
If for any reason you cannot download the paper, let me know and I will send you a copy.
My School of Public Health has issued a press release at https://www.bu.edu/sph/2019/03/05/first-experimental-evaluation-of-pharmaceutical-industry-led-access-program/
There is an accompanying comment in the same edition of the Lancet Global Health by Imran Manji and Sonal D Pastakia
See
https://www.thelancet.com/journals/langlo/article/PIIS2214-109X(19)30049-X/fulltext#%20
which says "Peter Rockers and colleagues present a necessary and timely evaluation of an industry-led initiative to improve medicine access, which [...] provides many lessons to others in the pharmaceutical industry who are embarking on similar access programs."
On Tuesday March 12th from 16:00-17:00 CET / 15:00-16:00 GMT / 10:00-11:00 EST I will be participating in a webinar organized by Novartis to discuss the evaluation in the context of measuring outcomes for social programs. If you would like to participate in the webinar please register at

If any E-Druggers have any questions or comments about the paper, the comment or the Webinar I would be very happy to have a discussion on E-Drug. If you are interested in the many other papers produced as part of our evaluation you can see links to the papers at

I look forward to hearing from you.
