E-DRUG: Legal innovation from AstraZeneca? (cont'd)

E-drug: Legal innovation from AstraZeneca? (cont'd)
---------------------------------------------

Dear Colleagues,

You may not be aware that the same "tactic" is being used by some
pharmaceutical companies in Australia. At the moment, both our
Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and individual
members of the committee are currently being "sued" because two
companies objected to recent PBAC decisions not to list their products
on our subsidised national medicines list.

Ironically, the matter is going to court in early next month with the
case apparently scheduled for the same day our Health Minister is
launching a revised Australian Medicinal Drug Policy. The revised
document more strongly features "partnership" among all the players,
including the pharmaceutical industry!

Some partnership!
