E-drug: Literature review on anthrax (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Kirsten Myhr's comments, the issue about antibiotic resistance
is not the typical problem of resistance from past treatments, but
rather concern over strains of anthrax that are deliberately
engineered to be antibiotic resistant, so they can kill more people.
Biological warfare experts, including those writing the JAMA article,
suggest Russian developed strains resistant to both amoxicillin and
doxycycline. The strains found so far the USA apparently do not
have this antibiotic resistant, but it remains a concern.
