[e-drug] Managing drug shortages in Jordan

E-DRUG: Managing drug shortages in Jordan
-----------------------------------------

Dear E- druggers,

I am a pharmacist from Jordan currently pursuing my M Sc in University
of Bradford, UK.

I have focused my Dissertation on "Managing drug shortages" with emphasis on Jordan.

I request information and ideas from whoever may have carried out
similar study, or may be willing to share his/her ideas and give me an insight on how to approach this topic, or provide me with references that migh help.

E-DRUG: Managing drug shortages in Jordan (2)
---------------------------------------------

Dear Alen Al-Fanek,

I am using this forum for an initial comment which might be useful for all,
but we can communicate directly in future, if necessary.

First of all, I think "Managing drug shortages" is primarily a "Drug Supply
Chain Management " issue and your work should be firmly grounded in this
area. The literature is extensive for this. I would definitely have the now
famous "yellow book"; Managing Drug Supply from MSH, on my work desk.

Then, I think you may consider focussing on the reality, with actual
historical or currently generated data, of drug shortages in Jordan, and
analytically explore how this is attributable to nonconformity (covert or
overt!) to globally established good practice. Finally, I believe you will
contribute to the existing pool of Drug Supply Chain Management knowledge
and practice, by proposing how improvements can be made in a specific
Jordanian context.
