E-drug: Maximum Shelf-life of pharmaceutical products (cont'd)
---------------------------------------------
Dear Naomi,
It is necessary to have acceptable standards but from a speculative
point of view I think that once you get beyond a few years, no matter
how stable the product is in under normal conditions, the likelihood of
exposure to range of unpredictable environments such as moisture,
heat, freezing temperatures, etc increases. You may not be able to
guarantee where a drug 'has been' after several years. It would be
practically impossible to guarantee a shelf life of (guessing) more than
10 years even for the most stable product.
