Med-reps and irrational medicine use in sub-Saharan Africa (4)
----------------------------------------
Fellow e-druggers,
The influence of Med-reps on prescription cant be handled by uni-focal as now it has taken the magnetite of is 'global Threat'. It requires a total 'policy sift' in the health management. Influence of Med-rep has widely damaging every standardized treatment regime.
The problem is much serious as in the case of HIV / MTB / malaria. Studies & documents are available world wide to advocate the damage caused by it.
It may take larger inputs to see changes for community prescriptions, but the urgent & remarkable changes can be bring at the institutional / hospital level. Where the pharmacies have to increase it's role as a backbone for all the expertise needed. Pharmacy should come with blue Print/guidelines on sensitive issues like on the 'when a drug can be changed' (not brand name) on prescriptions, what can be the standard format/ formalities by with a drug can be changed. Development of such a blue prints or guidelines have to be integrated with national programs. & visa versa this dossiers will be helpful for further strengthening of advocacy's where there is real lack on neglected diseases or conditions.
