E-DRUG: Mercy Ships Essential Medicines Formulary 2006-2007
-----------------------------------------
Dear E-Drug colleagues,
I am glad to announce that the second edition of the Mercy Ships Essential
Medicines Formulary 2006-2007 is now available online! It can be downloaded
from www.ms-information.org (click on 'Programs - what we do', then 'Mercy
Ships Formulary').
Thank you once again for your professional advice and assistance to make
this and its first edition possible. Both have been based closely on the
latest WHO Model list no. 14 and Model Formulary 2004, and includes WHO
recommendation notes. A short article of it is included in the latest WHO
Essential Drugs Monitor no. 34 http://www.who.int/medicines/en/ or
http://www.who.int/medicines/publications/monitor/DrugsMonitor_34.pdf. We
are also grateful to WHO for making the above resources accessible and
user-friendly, especially with the WHO Model Formulary CD-ROM which includes
guidelines on how to prepare a formulary.
I enclose our bibliography and acknowledgements chapter as I did for the
last edition in 2003, and again send appreciation on behalf of Mercy Ships
International for the resources and people your email group has made
available and accessible to the world. I was able to give a lecture about
our formulary preparation process and the WHO essential medicines concept to
final year students at the University of Liberia recently, and they were
very eager to hear about E-Drug, so here's to another generation of
E-Druggers, blessings,
Kae ![]()
