E-drug: New FIP statements available online

Dear Colleagues,

The following four new Statements were adopted by the International
Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) during its Annual Congress in
Sydney, Australia, in September 2003, and are now available online:

* FIP Statement of Policy on the Role of the Pharmacist in
   Promoting a Tobacco Free Future;
* FIP Statement of Policy on Counterfeit Medicines;
* FIP Statement of Policy on Provisioning Ships with Medicines for
   their Effective Use; and
* FIP Statement of Professional Standards on the Role of the
   Pharmacist in Encouraging Adherence to Long Term Treatments

To view the Statements, please go to the FIP Website
<http://www.fip.org> and click on "Statements" in the left-hand menu.
By choosing the option "Statements, Guidelines and Position Papers"
you will be able to access PDF-files of all official FIP policy
documents since 1996.

Currently, the above-mentioned new documents are available in
English. Translations into Spanish, French and German will be added
shortly.
