E-drug: Overuse of antipyretics drugs in children
-------------------------------------------------
Dear e-druggers,
Fever accounts for nearly 60% of motives for pediatric
consultations. It is known from daily practices and from a
recent study that when a child has fever at home, parents adopt
various attitudes including overuse of antipyretic drugs. These could
be influenced by misconception and fever phobia. It would therefore
result in wrong, costly and at times dangerous care given to child.
In order to improve rational use of antipyretic drugs and to
increase the use of physicals methods (tepid sponging...), Cameroon
Network of Rational Use of Drugs (NETRUD) wish to design effective
printed educational materials for parents.
We would appreciate collaboration, help and experience of all of
you.
