E-DRUG: Patient Compliance Studies in the Developing World

Dear E-druggers,

I am a Pharmacist working at Evelyn Hone College, Lusaka, Zambia and am
involved with the training of Pharmacy Technicians. This is the only
pharmacy training in Zambia. I am also assisting in providing
in-service training for the Mission hospitals in Zambia on Drug
management and Rational Drug Use.

One of my major interests is in improving drug use by looking at patient
compliance issues, particularly in relation to the pharmacy and the role
that the dispenser has in improving patient compliance, through
packaging, labeling and through written and oral communication methods.

I am asking if anyone else is working in this area, or has any
information/ details of recent studies on this topic, particularly in
the developing world?
