[e-drug] Post Graduate education for Pharmacists - Short Courses (3)

E-DRUG: Post Graduate education for Pharmacists - Short Courses (3)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Richard,

Thank you for your expose of some of the wide range of academic training
available.

In addition, there are a wide range of organisations with professional
short course offerings for continued professional development and more and
more academic offerings in partnership with universities.

In my role of Executive Director of the International Association of Public
Health Logisticians (IAPHL), I note that there is not a global system of
accreditation either professional or academic and this is something we have
started to look at within IAPHL.

I note that Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC) has a web
interface called LAPTOP that is a database of health supply chain
management training,

http://www.rhsupplies.org/activities-resources/tools/laptop/, it is
currently being updated with the idea to also list training according to
competency area using the PtD competency framework.

I have reviewed the adverts that we share via IAPHL and provide the
following alphabetical list of a number of these providers (the list is not
exhaustive but I have tried to be inclusive):

*EMPOWER* Health, short courses

I also note the following two open access health supply chain text books:

*Managing drug supply 3rd addition,* Management Sciences for Health

- a text for all aspects of health logistics and supply chain from a health
perspective

of Health Commodities
http://deliver.jsi.com/dlvr_content/resources/allpubs/guidelines/LogiHand.pdf

I also draw your attention to the *CILT Logistics Reseacrh Network (LRN)*
which is a a group of some 20 universities focusing on supply chain issues

https://www.ciltuk.org.uk/AboutUs/ProfessionalSectorsForums/Forums/LogisticsResearchNetwork.aspx
, *Kühne Logistics University*

Health Supply Chain Management*,

Jimma University and Addis University in Ethiopia also have post graduate health
supply chain courses.

I hope this is helpful to others.
