E-DRUG: PSM Toolbox Update - September 2010

Dear Colleagues,
The Procurement & Supply Management Toolbox website (http://www.psmtoolbox.org) is a WHO/ AMDS repository of tools for health professionals, students in health related sciences and consultants working on PSM and other public health related areas. WHO/AMDS collaborates with i+solutions which is implementing the project on a contractual basis. The database now contains 176 English and 70 French PSM tools and resource documents for ARVs, TB & Malaria medicines and several other health commodities. Links to tool translations into Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian have been mentioned where available.
The website has recently been updated and now includes the following new features:
1) The option to search for a tool using the organization that developed it as a search criterion.
2) Self study courses on the PSM Training Calendar.
3) New tools such as:
- "Co-trimoxazole Prophylaxis for HIV-Exposed and HIV-Infected Infants and Children: Practical Approaches to Implementation and Scale up" developed by WHO and UNICEF.
- A PowerPoint based self study course in "Business Skills, Practices & the Law: Essential Tools in Medical Products Procurement" developed by the World Bank and Michele Forzley.
Both documents can be downloaded from the Toolbox website.

Please note that this update only concerns the website - the current Toolbox USB stick has not yet been updated as this is done once a year. The offline version of the PSM Toolbox to be used without internet connection is available free of charge to developing countries.
