E-DRUG: QAMSA Study on Substandard Antimalarials in Sub-Saharan Africa
- some good news in there!
------------------------------------------------------------
I commend the authors of the report as well as the authorities and staff
of the collaborating institutions in Uganda, Senegal and Madagascar.
Although the overall message is quite dire, let us not lose sight of the
good news contained in the report:
Despite overall failure rates, this was one of the bright spots the study revealed; in Uganda's public sector, all ACT and SP samples passed quality tests.
This is proof that it is possible to maintain high quality in the public
sector with the appropriate procurement, quality testing, storage, and
distribution measures! The Uganda National Drug Authority (NDA) and
National Medical Stores (NMS) are to be commended for their work in
keeping the Ugandan public sector drug supply clean.
