E-drug: Re: Liberalisation in the Netherlands - few positive effects (2)

Dear E-druggers
In this discussion it has to be mentioned that without the measures
(reference and maximum prices, stimulation of generic prescribing,
implementation of pharmacotherapy discussion groups) taken by the Dutch
government in the period between 1989-1997, the pharmaceutical expenditure
would have been fl 2,2 mld (USD 1,1 billion) higher. Meanwhile the quality
and rationality of prescribing and dispensing has improved.
This is quite a success!
