E-drug: Re: New collaboration between Industry and WHO

One shouldn't believe every word published by the media. I would like
to see the original press release from WHO and then - if necessary -
we could inform the DG about the rather low efficacy and high cost of
pharmacological interventions. WHO could do more about publishing
data on smoking-induced mortality and morbidity in developing
countries - at the present time China is the worst example.
In principle I don't believe in setting one powerful multinational
industry on another one and believing that that will produce results.
The time of gladiators vs wild animals is over.
We should follow developments carefully.
