E-drug: Re: Rules for advertising of medicines (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
You've raised a relevant point with regard to the Internet, and the fact
that "the ads will be 'published' for everyone visiting the site." To
highlight the problem, I recently visited the National Institutes of Health
site, clicked on the "Anemia, General" information link, and was promptly
directed off the NIH site to a For-Profit site which treats the information
as secondary to the advertisements posted for products. This issue is
unbelievably out of control, even now. Maybe the time has come to syndicate
healthcare information, and begin protecting patients/consumers around the
world. Just a thought, and soon to be followed with Action by somebody, I
hope.
Thanks, Tom
