work on the impact of trade agreements on access to medicines
Thanks Ellen for the hard and constructive efforts of MSF in ensuring that
PUBLIC HEALTH does not become yesterday's news!. By way of coordination, it
might be best that we ascertain how OECD countries define essential
medicines
and how access is made available when not purchased through the private
sector. I have in government procurement policies, tax incentives etc. It
would seem that the case of MSF will be further enhanced by identifying the
need for the global community to supplement any constraints Trade Agreements
like TRIPS are imposing on government's ability to address the social
aspects
of health policies.
Any thoughts?
