[e-drug] Reply from Dr Attaran to Dr Srinivas (cont'd)

E-drug: Reply from Dr Attaran to Dr Srinivas (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear e-druggers,

I concur with Dr Srinivas' statements. His opinions hold true for all
developing countries. As one who has closely seen how medical
practitioners are lured by advertisements, hard-selling and vigorous
sales promotion methods employed by MNCs, I cannot agree any
less with Dr Srinivas' statement.

What is more important here is that unlike many other practitioners
who bask in the glory of being deliberately "duped" in exchange for
material receipts, Dr Srinivas has been honest enough in admitting
such practices in his profession.

Dr Attaran's response to Dr Srinivas' mail seems a bit too
unrestrained. Through his reply Dr Attaram projects himself as one
who is cut out from the real world or else is in no mood to accept
ground realities. An Utopian world doesn't exist and one has to
accept this reality.

Dr Srinivas need not retrogress because of some inadvertent and
ingenuous remarks. Everyone in this mailing list can have his/her own
opinion. Isn't this what this mailing list meant for? Let's ameliorate our
knowledge through proper exchange of ideas instead of making
inadvertent remarks.

Regards,

Praveen
