E-drug: Rights, research & health information
---------------------------------------------
Hello!
The Consumer Network of the Cochrane Collaboration is presenting a
one-day international seminar:
"Rights, Research & Health Information: Community and professionals
working together"
at the Victoria Junction Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa on 24
October 2000 (8.30am for a 9.00am start, 4.30pm close)
Join speakers and participants from Africa, America, Australia, Latin
America, Europe and Eastern Europe for an exciting day of discussion and
networking. Speakers include consumer activists, and people from the WHO
and Cochrane Collaboration (an international non-profit organisation helping
people make informed decisions about health care).
Participating in setting the research agenda, and shaping research questions
and activities are key strategies for making health care more valuable for
consumers. Women's rights, rights in the age of AIDS, and access to drugs
and drug information will also be key points for discussion. Find out more
about evidence-based health care, and how consumers are involved.
More details are included in the brochure attached. Please spread the word!
Registrations must be received by 20 October 2000. You can register
on-line at www.mrc.ac.za/conference/cochrane.htm (under
"satellites"). (See the brochure for other payment methods and local
contact details)
We hope to see you there!
