E-DRUG: Seeking inputs from youths for WHO Discussion Paper on Essential Medicines and Technologies for NCDs
-----------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues (Young professionals)
On behalf of The Lancet Youth Commission on Essential Medicines Policies, I
reach out to you seeking your comments/suggestions on how countries can
improve accessibility, availability and affordability of essential
medicines and basic health technologies for non-communicable diseases
(NCDs).
World Health Organization (WHO) recently published a discussion paper on
improving accessibility, availability and affordability of essential
medicines and basic health technologies for NCDs. WHO is seeking input from
diverse stakeholders, in order to strengthen its technical assistance to
Member States in efforts to meet the target of "80% availability of
affordable basic technologies and essential medicines" for NCDs. The paper
is open for public consultation until the end of August. The public
consultation provides a tremendous opportunity for civil society engagement
regarding the language and actions of WHO, helping countries devise
practical and actionable NCD strategies. The Young Professionals Chronic
Disease Network and The Lancet Youth Commission on Essential Medicines
Policies wish to submit a comment which reflects YPCDN community and *young*
people's views and insights, to the WHO for consideration as it finalizes
its discussion paper.
We request you to please tell us your thoughts on the WHO paper and share
your experiences by filling out as many questions as possible on this
questionnaire <http://ycemp.com/joint-consultation-yp-cdn/> by Monday,
August 24th. Please Feel free to share this email with your networks.
