"Selected drugs for the care of People Living with HIV:
sources and prices"

The UN agencies, the UNICEF Supply Division, UNAIDS and the World
Health Organization, along with Mdecins Sans Frontires have started
a list of prices and sources of HIV-related drugs for use by
governments and procurement agencies to find the best supply
solutions and make the best use of limited funds. The database,
based in UNICEF SD in Copenhagen, provides information on 34
products needed in the care of HIV/AIDS, with information from 34
manufacturers from 16 countries. As more information will be
received , the database will be up-dated.

The up-dated report (an earlier report was issued in February 2000)
which presents the database and includes a comparative price study
from the 34 manufacturers is available on:

- the WHO Essential Drug and Medicine Policy Department web site:

- the Mdecins Sans Frontires Access Campaign web site

Contact information of manufacturers can be supplied to governments
agencies and purchasing groups on request, as indicated in the report.
