ARV Access for Africa would like to announce our next ARV Drug Supply Management Course:
[Supply Chain Management of HIV & AIDS Medicines and Supplies]

INTRODUCTION
ARV Access for Africa situated in Pretoria, South Africa a subsidiary of IDA Solutions in the Netherlands, was created to manage the three synergistic components namely: ARV buffer stock, provision of training in Supply Chain Management of HIV & AIDS medicines and supplies and provision of Capacity Building to national drug supply organisations in developing countries. The training component, providing training in “Supply Chain Management of HIV & AIDS Medicines and Supplies” is fully established and being undertaken in Pretoria, South Africa.
We are proud to announce that our course was accredited by the South African Pharmacy Council on 25 October 2007. With the accreditation by The South African Pharmacy Council “ARV Access for Africa” becomes one of a prestige small group of “Provider of Courses” in South Africa.
Participants will receive a certificate on competency and attendance after completion of the course. The accreditation will also contribute to participant attendance in South Africa and the Region as an incentive.
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OF HIV & AIDS MEDICINES AND SUPPLIES
OBJECTIVE
To provide training in the areas of; planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the procurement and supply management of ARV delivery projects.
AUDIENCE
Anyone who is responsible for planning an ARV delivery program and includes ARV program managers, physicians, pharmacists, health systems managers, procurement, distribution managers and any person with a basic medical background.
SPECIFICS OF THE COURSE ARE:
Expose participants to issues specific to planning the procurement & distribution of ARV’s Provide program managers with skill in program planning implementation of supply chain management of HIV & AIDS medicines and commodities and how to apply those skills in their own countries.
Provide practical tools to decision-makers in essential drugs programs to improve their level of performance Exchange views and experiences amongst senior decision-makers

IN SUMMARY
The course is highly interactive, with presentations by international experts, facilitated group exercises, discussions and field visits. Participants are taken on a guided tour of an ARV Treatment Site, located in a rural area, where care is provided to the community. The clinic is a role model for ARV roll-out n resource-poor settings in South Africa, and the rest of the world. There is a visit to a major Distribution Centre that concentrates on Sub Sahara Africa for Pharmaceutical deliveries as a practical example on procurement, distribution and supply management.
Target Participants
The course is aimed at ARV program managers, physicians, pharmacists, health systems managers, procurement, distribution managers and any person with a basic medical background.
Expected Outcome
After completing the two-week course, participants will be well equipped with practical skills to address challenges common in the supply chain management of ARV's in HIV/AIDS programs.

The Course Fee is 2200 (Euro)
The Course fee includes:
