[e-drug] Swine influenza A (H1N1) vaccines production?

E-DRUG: Swine influenza A (H1N1) vaccines production?
------------------------------------------------------
[The global capacity to produce a new influenza vaccine in the coming 6
months is grossly inadequate to produce enough vaccines for the world.
Most "rich" countries have contracted vaccine production capacity, but
have demanded that they be given first. The developing countries might
get the leftovers (if any)? The price will also be a problem. It will be
interesting to see what the pharmaceutical companies do and what WHO
recommends the world to do. Here a first question about the political
economy of the new swine flu. Debate is welcome! WB]

Dear E-druggers,

I just started working with a Mexican colleague on the political economy
of the 'swine' influenza epidemic and am very much interested in knowing
which pharmaceutcial companies are working on swine influenza A
(H1N1)vaccines at the moment?

In addition, I am looking for information on to whom these not yet
approved vaccines will be administered and who organises the whole
intervention.

I would very much appreciate any kind of information or thoughts on
this.

Thank you,
