E-DRUG: The Interagency Emergency Health Kit 2010

The First Review Committee for updating the "Interagency Emergency
Health Kit (IEHK) 2006" will be held in Geneva in March 2009.
Applications for inclusion, change or deletion of a medicine or a
medical device in the next IEHK should be sent to the Secretary of the
Committee whose address is below. The deadline for submission of
suggested amendments to the Interagency Emergency Health Kit is 16
January 2009.

The call for comments and suggestions for changes in items included in
the kit is posted on the website of the World Health Organisation
Department op Essential Medicines and Pharmaceutical Policies ( WHO /
EMP ).

A formalized process for future revisions, including oversight by the
Expert Committee after appropriate consultation, has been published in
the Technical Report of the 2007 Meeting of the WHO Expert Committee on
Selection and Use of Essential Medicines (see the link to TRS 946 in the
right-hand column of the webpage).

The Review Committee of the IEHK met in July 2008 to further develop the
process and timeline for updating the kit. Suggested changes will be
reviewed during the course of 2009, following the new procedures, with
the aim to publish the next version of the kit early in 2010.
