[e-drug] Transition policy brief to new ARV regimens

E-DRUG: Transition policy brief to new ARV regimens
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear all,

We wish to inform you that WHO has published a policy brief on "Transition to new HIV treatment regimens - procurement and supply chain management issues".

It is intended to advise countries on how to transition from previous ARV regimens to newly recommended ARV regimens in the WHO Consolidated guidelines on the use of antiretroviral drugs for treating and preventing HIV infection.

The policy brief which first came out last October 2013, now has been updated with more programmatic advice on implementing phased approaches to transition to new ARV regimens in countries. It is also based on consultations with partner agencies. The policy brief on transition to new document is available at http://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/10665/104449/1/WHO_HIV_2014.4_eng.pdf

It is being translated in French, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese for wider use in procurment planning and rational ARV use.

Please do not hesitate to share this new version with your colleagues and partner organisations.

Warm regards,

Vincent
