[e-drug] Unintended ARV treatment interruptions (cont'd)

E-drug: Unintended ARV treatment interruptions (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello All,

I do not believe that 'it is better to give something rather than
nothing for that short period.' This is because our experience in
Maun Botswana has shown that resistance is usually a factor of
lack of maximal viral suppression occasioned by dual or
monotherapy. Other reasons may include lack of adequate
adherence, drug interactions and poor drug levels. Allowing
patients to continue 'on just something' will not be Rational Drug
Use.
