[e-drug] Unwanted pharmaceutical donations in emergencies

E-DRUG: Unwanted pharmaceutical donations in emergencies
--------------------------------------------------------

Dear E-druggers

I am a pharmacist from Poland and currently doing my Master of Public
Health degree on The University of New South Wales in Sydney.

I am interested in doing my MPH major project research on problems
related to pharmaceutical donations in emergency (post conflict
/post-disaster) settings. Among the things I'd like to explore is
quality, usefulness, appropriateness of drug donations as well as other
issues related to that problem, like waste of a human resources on
inappropriate donations management (sorting, storing, disposing) I
would like to base my research mainly on Sri Lanka, which I intend to
visit in July.

I am in the initial stages of my research and currently trying to
conduct the stakeholders analysis for that problem (inappropriate
donations).

As many of you have broad international background, I thought
that you might be able to share a bit of your experience with me. That
would be great!

What has to be done in your opinion to improve appropriateness of
"emergency drug donations", who are the main stakeholders and how they
can be influenced? What do you think?

If you have any suggestions it'd be really helpful!

All the best !!!

Search on the term "donations" and see the 784 matches! E-druggers have often complained about unwanted donations! Similarly, type "Lanka" for country specific contacts. Wilbert, moderator]
