Very true. There still seems to be a limited understanding of ethical requirements in medical research. Even where a framework exists its poorly implemented. Ethical approvals are routine procedures as opposed to an thorough ethical vetting process.
African countries need to design an effective ethical legal and administrative framework for medical research that should then be implemented to ensure patients and the larger public are protected.
