E-DRUG: Withdrawal of antipsychotics in Pakistan (3)
----------------------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues
WHy would the withdrawal of these antipsychotics cause such problems in
Pakistan? All the drugs mentioned, chloropromazine, amitryptyline,
procyclidine and thioridazine are all made by numerous generic companies.
(the author of the email said there were no national competitors in
Pakistan!) Are the laws in Pakistan such that these generics cannot get
into the country? I have never once dispensed any of the above in the
trade name in my short 6 year-life as a pharmacist. Please fill as in on
why these generics are not available in Pakistan.
Perplexed
