[Martindale can be used as an initial strategy for this type of queries:
look up the preparations under the generic name, then look up the
manufacturer in part 3 under the brandname; then look up the
contact details in the Directory of Manufacturers. However, not all
products or companies are listed.
Second strategy: ask the Pharm. Manufacturers Ass in your country. If they are
any good, they should know who can supply what.
Third strategy: Internet search, but beware of bogus companies!
--
E.g.: according to Martindale 31st ed page 985 there is an official
USP 23 preparation; in Spain Zyma sells Azul Metile (not clear whether
that is an injection); in USA Star produces Urolene Blue.
--
If the South African Hospital is producing methylene blue according to
USP 23, why wouldn't the Medicines Control Council give them permission
to make it and supply it to other hospitals on a named-patient basis?
