Dear Friend of MSH,
Forty years ago, on May 21, 1971, MSH opened its doors to help strengthen health systems for greater health impact in developing countries around the world.
For the past four decades, our work has been inspired by a Taoist poem that MSH founder Ron O'Connor was taught by his good friend and mentor, Dr. Noburu Iwamura- Lao Tzu's Tao of Leadership. The spirit of the Tao (Way) of Leadership actively empowering communities to take charge of their own lives-continues to be at the core of MSH's values. http://www.msh.org/40-years-of-impact/
I am proud to present this new video, featuring MSH staff from around the world.
We continue to build on Dr. O'Connor's vision and Dr. Iwamura's inspiration, with our staff working shoulder to shoulder with local colleagues in more than 130 countries to close the gap between knowledge and action in public health by "doing it themselves."
Our first public reception to honor our 40th anniversary will be held in Washington, DC, in conjunction with the Global Health Council conference, on June 14, from 7-9pm.
Please join us.
Also, please visit our 40th anniversary web page (http://www.msh.org/40-years-of-impact/)and read global health reporter John Donnelly's blog series "Discovering MSH." (http://blog.msh.org/index.php/category/discovering-msh/)
Our work is not over yet. MSH continues its commitment to save lives and improve the health of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people. We have a renewed determination toward our goal of a world where health care is accessible, affordable and appropriate for all.
Best regards,
